Hehku

The eagle owl is a bearer of eternal wisdom and a silent guardian of the dusk, whose gaze pierces through the darkest night. With its keen hearing, it catches the faintest whispers of the forest—sounds that go unheard by others. The sculpture serves as a reminder of the serenity and beauty of nature through its presence.

The piece features tones of burnt orange and almond brown. The body is crafted from Finnish birch, with a surface finished by hand using thin layers of acrylic glazing. This process brings depth to the color and a sense of life that shifts with the light.

The glass elements attached to the body are hand-cut and kiln-fused opal Bullseye art glass. The fusing process brings out the unique characteristics of the glass in an individual way, making every piece one of a kind. The glass is positioned at different levels within the figure’s features; when illuminated, it creates an optical depth effect that changes according to the viewer's perspective.
